What non-profit project did you like the most recently?
Probably the organisation called Guillerma Galla - Takuararenda (the world of bamboo), that has bought a land in Paraguay and is now teaching the permaculture, bamboo building, for the past couple of years. This is not only focused on foreign students but on locals too, who thanks to such a knowledge can find a truly quality job.
What are you currently working on?
Still on the activities related to the Surya project. Building up the school was the easiest part, running it in the middle of mountains is the difficult one. But apart of the solar school we´re preparing few construction studies for Bhutan, consider building another school in Cambodia or the Philippines. Currently I am down here in Brasil, studying usage of bamboo for construction purposes and educating my small son. And am getting the power to complete my doctoral thesis at the Czech Technical University.
Mostly from people and situations that surround me and provide me with support and ideas.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
As always, somewhere on the road. Probably with more children and more functional projects.
What is your Dream project?
A complete urbanism of the Gasa city in Bhutan, no roads, no cars, no networks. But despite all this I believe that it can get functional without any dramatic changes to the local environment. I would like to launch a co-operation between faculties (or perhaps universities), focused on energy friendly projects for homes or communities, too.
What unsettled and on the other hand pleased you recently?
I´ve been truly unsettled when, during fishing, my son was almost eaten by a crocodile. And was pleased that it didn´t happen, even it was really close. Despite having won the fight with the fish it ran away so again we ended up with steamed rice only.
