The Surya Project represent the running of a solar school which provides basic and all year around education in the village of Kargyak in the Northern part of Indian Himalayas in the Zanskar range. The project reacts to the insufficient standard of basis education which is caused by isolation and extreme climate conditions of the region.
Did you know that without the Surya project children from the Kargyak village and its surroundings would have to live for years away from their families? As there are no other schools in that region at all. In the past children had to travel for their studies and did not come back home in most cases. So not just the families have suffered but also the culture and local language. The school also teaches the original tribal language and employs teachers from Tibet.
In February 2012 Fragilis distributed to Surya a total of CZK50k.
